
Due to recent emergency events involving Peregrine
Charities founder, Russel R. Wasendorf, Sr. - a suicide attempt
yesterday morning and subsequent investigations into the corporate
sponsor of the Charities (PFGBEST) - the 2012 Peregrine Charities
Triathlon is cancelled. We regret to inform you of this news
and we will try to communicate any further developments to you.
Thank you for your efforts to participate in the Triathlon,
which has benefited children in regional hospitals and the families
caring for them.
Hospital Grants
In November, Peregrine Charities awarded $187,060 to Eastern Iowa
hospitals to assist with medical research for rare pediatric
diseases and provide assistance with children's hospitalzation and
medical treatment.
St. Luke's Foundation- Cedar Rapids, Iowa:
$44,850
St. Luke's received this grant for the purchase of a
CinemaVision Goggle System made specifically for MRI. Read Full Story
University of Iowa Foundation- Iowa City, Iowa:
$142,210
The University of Iowa received two grants. $42,210
was given to purchase a Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorting
Machine. The $100,000 grant will support research into rare
